It's been eight months since we started our first Branding Clinics at Impact Hub King's Cross in January 2016. We have met with over 25 social enterprises addressing their branding queries 1:1 every month. The format is as follows: every appointment is booked through the Impact Hub King's Cross website. When we started, we weren't sure if there would be a demand for branding advice for social enterprises. So far, every time slot each month has been fully booked.
Each consultation runs in this sort of manner. They begin with a burning branding question that the social enterprise is struggling with. We then address this matter. Some of the topics that are covered are: naming, messaging, visual identity and positioning. Even topics such as briefing in designers are recurring and we have even developed a template for participants to make this easier. We then move unto looking at their current brand overall and see where there may be gaps in their current brand. Each participant gets a short report with some notes that they can take away and action.
It has been really rewarding for us to be able to contribute even in a small way to helping these social ideas, which are often in their incubation or start-up phases. The ideas are often really ground-breaking and we feel proud to think that we may be able to help get their message out to a wider audience. We plan on continuing this work and plan on expanding it further so that we can help more social enterprises aside from the few that we are able to meet each month.
