I'll have to admit that when the Tweeting started yesterday, I had no idea if there would be any response at all. I was very hopeful that this was a subject that would be close to the hearts of many, but I didn't know if people would be able to take time out of their busy schedules to share a few Tweets. Well, I am so very happy for all of the women in the world showcased yesterday!
I'd like to thank everyone for the overwhelming flow of Tweets, Retweets and likes with #CelebrateWomen yesterday! They came from as far as Australia and introduced me and (hopefully others) to many amazing women graphic designers across the globe. Below are some of the Tweets grouped into related colour groups. I hope that you enjoyed the Twitter flow as much as I did.
If you are interested in checking out some of the British women designers mentioned yesterday, please come along to the 'A+: 100 years of graphic communication by women at Central Saint Martins' exhibition. It is open daily from 16 February – 23 March (closed this Saturday–Sunday, 19–20 February) Further details can be found here.
All of the names that were Tweeted yesterday with #CelebrateWomen and until the close of the exhibition on 23 March 2016, will be included in a poster hanging at the CSM exhibition. I will aim to do an update of Tweets themselves again before the end of close.
I would like to say a special thank you to: Ruth Sykes, Central Saint Martins Graphic Design, Ian Paget, Grafik, Sarah Hyndman, Tori and Kathleen @WOGD, Ryan Hageman, Lorna Allan and Su Mathews for their support.
